Derek Smith

I’m very excited to start my newest sales career in real estate, focused on building lasting relationships in and around Puerto Vallarta. Born and raised in Saskatchewan, I’m still closely connected to my prairie roots and family, who taught me to be the easygoing, listening, and learning person I am today. I spent 14 years as an agricultural equipment salesman, building trusted client relationships, and 11 years as a municipal recreation coordinator, where I managed facilities and built community recreation programs from the ground up. I also co-chaired the 2025 Men’s World Softball Championship in Prince Albert, SK — the largest single event ever hosted by our community. My oldest son, Riley (24), is a computer engineer in Saskatoon, and my youngest, Ethan (21), studies kinesiology and has played with the University of Saskatchewan volleyball team for the past four years. After moving to Puerto Vallarta two years ago, I’ve grown to love its rich history, vibrant culture, and the sense of community that thrives in its many unique and expansive neighborhoods. From golden sunsets over the Pacific to its world-class beaches and cobblestone streets full of character, PV has a way of making you feel at home.
